What if your reputation was put on the line because of a false accusation and a web of lies and deceit?ABS-CBN takes drama on a different level via “Reputasyon” which started airing last Monday (July 11). A Grand Presscon and thanks giving as well for its impressive pilot episode last monday was held at 14th floor with most of the cast of the series attended.
Last monday, I also took the liberty to catch the Pilot Episode over the cafeteria and surprised to see a lot of people are waiting and discussing the series. Last tuesday it becomes one of the talk of the town in Twitter as well.
Part of ABS-CBN’s Kapamilya Gold, “Reputasyon” is led by Cristine Reyes. As she embarks on a new role that promises to be her most challenging by far, Cristine is ready to put her reputation on the line for her new show. “Itataya ko po ang repustasyon ko, maganda po talaga ang kwento nitong bagong show namin. Pinagisipan po ng mabuti at pinaghandaan po ng aming mga manunulat at produksyon,” Cristine shared.
Cristine plays the role of Agnes De Los Santos, a simple woman with big dreams for her family. However, an event changes her life in ways she did not imagined and dreamt of.
Side by side with Cristine is her real-life boyfriend, Rayver Cruz who plays Henry. “Pakiramdam ko hindi ako nagtatrabaho kasi masaya kami sa set. Masayang-masaya ako na kasama ko si Cristine dito sa show. Bihira lang naman kasi yung pagkakataon na makasama mo sa isang project yung mahal mo sa buhay. At ang project na ito, maipagmamalaki namin, exciting ang magiging latag ng mga kwento,” Rayver said.
Jason Abalos will be completing the love triangle as Boyet. Jason shared in an interview that he is very much enthusiastic about this project.
This is also the comeback project of Aiko Melendez who took a hiatus in the television scene for quite a long time. Aiko plays an offbeat role that will make us all remember that she was indeed one of the most brilliant actresses during her early years.
An impressive array of actors will further bring brilliance to the teleserye– Jaclyn Jose, Lito Pimentel, Emilio Garcia, Deborah Sun, Jill Yulo, Andre Garcia, John James Uy. Acclaimed directors Laurice Guillen and Celso Ad Castillo complete the cast.
Under the direction of Jeffrey Jeturian and Mervyn Brondial, “Reputsayon” airs weekdays after “Happy Yippee Yehey” on ABS-CBN.

Just last week, I blogged about Beyonce’s latest album she released. With only couple of days in the music stands, she took over the top spots on the US Billboard album with her brand new album “4,”
My personal favorite on her latest album was “I WAS THERE”, “Countdown” and “End of time”. Beyoncé moved 310,000 units of her brand new solo album to debut at number one on the Billboard 200. This is Beyoncé’s fourth solo set and also her fourth straight chart topping debut. Beyoncé is only the third solo artist, as well as the second solo female act, to debut four albums straight to number one. Britney did the feat between 1999 and 2003, and rapper DMX did it five times in a row between 1998 and 2003
Here’s this week’s top US singles and album charts.
Billboard 200 Top Ten Albums:
1. “4” – Beyoncé
2. “21” – Adele
3. “Finally Famous” – Big Sean
4. “Where The Sun Goes Down” – Selena Gomez & The Scene
5. “The Light Of The Sun” – Jill Scott
6. “My Kinda Party” – Jason Aldean
7. “This Loud Morning” – David Cook
8. “Dream With Me” – Jackie Evancho
9. “Hell: The Sequel (EP)” – Bad Meets Evil
10. “American Idol Season 10 Highlights” – Scotty Mcreery
Sarah Geronimo is back! She recently made all the people in ILOILO happier last night with her Concert with of course the Concert King Martin Nievera dubbed as “WHAT LOVE IS.” Though upon returning from her US vacation, endless rumors keep bouncing back to her camp, and that is if its true that she will just leave upon return the Country’s largest network, ABSCBN. during her rehearsal
“Ayokong umalis. Please ‘wag. Please Lord,”
“Siyempre kung gusto ho ako ng Kapamilya station na nandodoon sa kanila, aba’y masarap po sa pakiramdam ‘yon. Kung ayaw na nila sa akin ay nakakalungkot naman ‘yon. Ako, ayoko pong umalis,”
“Gusto kong mag-focus sa aking career, relasyon sa aking mga magulang, sa aking pamilya at sa Diyos, ‘di ba?”
“Darating din ‘yan kung darating. Kung hindi, eh, ‘di hindi,” when asked about her lovelife.
SARAH and JOHN LLOYD MOVIE
Rumor also has it that the 3rd installment of Star Cinema and Viva Films project will start filming anytime soon. And everyone including especially the ASHLLOYD (Sarah and John Lloyd friends and lovely fans). When asked about what she feels about it, this is the sweetest reaction she gave the press.
“Sobrang excited ako na magtrabaho po uli. Espesyal sa akin ‘yung taong ‘yun, eh. Espesyal sa ating lahat dahil napakagaling na actor, ‘di ba, at mabait na kaibigan,”
So to all especulators and trying to malign Sarah Geronimo’s relationshiop with ABSCBN, you are wrong. She really loves to stay and be called as Kapamilya. ROD MAGARU is EXCITED TOO. Period!
It was 1996 when they started in the Radio. Chico Garcia and Delamar are two of the funniest, intelligent and witty (Oops 3 adjective lang) Disk Jockey in the country. When they started in that year people started wondering who is this two freak DJs making people laugh every morning. From then on we called ourselves “Rushers”.
I made a very trying hard LOGO for them in fact to celebrate the Anniversary today.
I remember I started listening to them back in 1999 in KC FM. From 8,000 different Radio stations that they worked throughout the year, Chico and Delamar has been an epitome of modern “Laugh at you own risk” inflicted in all of us. And now that they are (we are!) celebrating its 15th year of unstoppable and Unkabogable broadcasting every morning, everyone is so looking forward to that “Announcement” these two radio Angels will say. As far as I know it was 2002 when the show was back in RX 931.
Chico and Delamar may not know me, or may not remember me. For how many tea Panty este Party I snubbed in the past. I tend not to join the Top Ten (formerly Hot Ten) nor submit their entries via SMS, Or maybe Im not that funny to be considered (tears fell). But the fact that they made me laugh every morning is an indication that, yeah they arrived. They got my attention.
In 2005, Brad Turvey and Sarah join the crazy tandem. Brad Turvey joins every Mondays and Wednesdays while Sarah joins in between those days. And in 2007, They were joined by Karen.
Truth is, I felt very bad when KC FM dissolved themselves (dissolved themselves? LOL) rather bid goodbye. That I had to call my college classmate just to say “Anu ba yun, badtrip wala nang KCFM.” and my classmate was like, “anong sagot mo sa number 4 sa Cost Accounting?” Malaking DEADMA cya noon. Then theres a lot of contests in the show that I won, and one thing I remember was the MEMO contest where I won a pair of pants by just saying MEMO is the best blah blah blah of the Blah blah blah to the blah blah blah!!! in as fast as i could. Then I won.
Chico and Delamar delivers a kind of comedy that is distinct from different radio shows. You may find yourself laughing alone, being late in the class, bought a phone with a radio, pudpud your finger in the telephone but who cares, its about finding your way a good start every morning, and that is being with CHICO AND DELAMAR.
To Chico and Del, Happy 15th year Anniversary to you, to us and to all of the rushers. Please dont leave the radio, You are the angels in every morning rush, in every traffic in the metro, in every single soul in the van.
You are loved! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY GUYS!!!
Join the Morning Rush 15th Anniversary Grand EB this Saturday, July 9, 2011, at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Ortigas Park from 6am-12nn!
A very handsome and amiable Adel Tamano charmed the press today, July 8, 2011 to talk about a brand new current affairs talk show, “Tamano Perspective,” which is set to debut this Thursday (July 14) at 7pm on ANC SkyCable channel 27.
ANC will also premiere the new season of “View from the Top,” anchored by David Celdran, on Monday (July 11), 9:30pm. I am excited to see him again not only for his views but to see how quick he answers question from media unconsciously.
Every week, Tamano will examine the latest news stories that can range from nationalism to family values and social media. But more than featuring a roundup of news, Tamano goes one step further by giving his opinion, as a lawyer and educator, on each story.
He also explained that “There’s no fence-sitting allowed in the program. I’m not a journalist, I’m a lawyer and an advocate and so the show will reflect my training as a person who takes stands on issues. We want to present a point of view, a concrete and definite perspective on an issue, and we do this to encourage the viewer to take one as well.”
A broadcasting greenhorn, Tamano said he sees his newest venture as a great way to learn new skills, expand his base of life experiences, and more importantly, to find new ways of being of service to the people.
“I’ve always valued intelligent public debate and discussion and I saw anchoring a TV program as a way to bring some of that to the Philippine public,” he said. Tamano, the first Filipino Muslim to graduate from Harvard Law School, is currently the Dean of the College of Law at the Liceo de Cagayan University. He is also a partner at the Kapunan, Tamano, Javier & Associates
Tamano said his knowledge and firsthand experience of campaign politics gives him an advantage in his new job. “I won’t be a naive anchor discussing matters that I haven’t seen or experienced. I’ve been given a rare peek into the inner workings of power at the very highest levels of government. In a way, I’m a veteran – though young in age – in political experience and I hope to be able to use that experience so that I can provide better insight and analysis for our viewers,” he said.
Meanwhile, one of ANC’s senior anchors David Celdran returns with another season of “View From the Top,” a 30-minute feature on personalities at the top of their game.
The show aims to raise the bar of excellence in every endeavor by highlighting the discipline and ethic of renowned leaders and icons. It also talks about the lighter side of living on the top, revealing how bigwigs spend their free time to what causes or advocacies they adopt or support.
This season, the 20-year-broadcasting veteran gets to interview some of the country’s icons like construction legend David Consunji of DMC Inc., advertising guru Emily Abrera, the chair emeritus of McCann Ericsson.Philippines, beauty doctor to the stars Dr. Vicki Belo of the Belo Medical Group, and Diosdado Banatao, the only Filipino major player in Silicon Valley. Celdran also anchors “Executive Class” on ANC and is the editor-in-chief of VAULT magazine, a luxury and lifestyle magazine for men.
Don’t miss “View From the Top” with David Celdran on Monday (July 11), 9:30 pm and the “Tamano Perspective” with Atty. Adel Tamano on Thursday (July 14) at 7pm on ANC SkyCable channel 27.
At the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Asia’s most fuel-efficient cars built by students are flagged off in a bid to set a new record at Shell Eco-marathon Asia 2011 – a challenge for the youth to design, build and run a vehicle that can travel the farthest distance using the least amount of fuel.
Royal Dutch Shell Chief Executive Officer Peter Voser led the ceremonies today where 10 of the best vehicle entries from 12 countries paraded on the track. “Their passion and enthusiasm to push the boundaries on fuel efficiency is inspiring and infectious. Every time I watch these young people at work, it gives me renewed hope for the future,” said Mr. Voser, commending the Asian students’ creativity in their vehicle designs. He urged the participants not to keep up their efforts to drive the future of mobility.
Joining Mr. Voser in the ceremony is Datuk Fadillah Yusof, Malaysian Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, as well as ambassadors, High Commissioners, business leaders and guests from Malaysia and around the region, who came to witness the inventive solutions of the youth in solving the world’s growing energy challenges in transport.
“Although this is the second year of this regional competition, I understand the level of innovation and technical excellence on display amongst the students gathered here is already high,” says Datuk Fadillah as he observed the cars on parade.
The 2nd edition of Shell Eco-marathon Asia saw the students applying a wide range of technology in order to make their cars fuel-efficient.
Under the electric mobility class – introduced this year – De La Salle University of the Philippines has designed a “thinking vehicle” for their prototype car DLSU 100, equipped with cruise control programme which automatically maintains the vehicle’s speed while optimising energy consumption.“We designed our vehicle to have its own mind. It is a thinking vehicle programmed to sense its ideal speed, automatically adjusting its acceleration to use just the right amount of power required to achieve optimal energy efficiency,” explained Xian Jian Liao of Team DLSU 100, who designed the vehicle’s cruise control programme.
While the cars were innovative, the students paid attention to aesthetics as well, incorporating elements from the countries they represent. Team Sadewa from Indonesia designed their vehicle with a purple batik print. “This is part of our culture. We want to tell people that this is our culture, and that we are from Indonesia,” shares Team Leader Fitra Didik Nugroho.
Earlier in the day, Mr. Voser engaged various key stakeholders from government, academe and other energy-concerned citizens in an exchange of ideas on Future Energy, Smarter Mobility. The dialogue discussed how future energy and smarter mobility, leading towards building smarter cities is approached in Asia. Mr. Voser explained why the world will need to draw on a range of different energy sources to meet the region’s growing demand for energy.
“Our challenge is a triple one: We need to produce more energy for a world with more people, where millions are shaking off energy poverty and climbing up the energy ladder, while also building a more sustainable energy system for the future,” he said. “But human ingenuity has faced many big challenges like this in the past, and surmounted them. This gives me confidence the world will be able to meet its future energy challenge.”
Following the flag off ceremony, students took turns on the track to make attempts for their best efficiency performance, ahead of the closing and prize giving to be held the following day.
The Sepang International Circuit will be open for the events from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm daily from 7th to 9th July. Visitors should enter via Paddock Club Entrance and can watch the event from Paddock Club (PC) 1.

There has a development about the possibility of Thai actor Mario Maurer visiting the country.
Today I recieved a confirmation that Mario Maurer already signed a contract to do a project here in the Philippines. PR Asia still hasn’t mention anything about the project. They are the same group who made ed Westwick Penshoppe endorsement possible.
Then PEP.com announced this:
Thai actor Mario Maurer inked a deal with PR Asia (same agency as Ed Westwick) for his first project in the Philippines. He is best known for his lead roles in the movies The Love of Siam (2007) and First Love (A Little Thing Called Love) released this 2011.

Starting July 11, ABSCBN’s News and Current Affairs division and TV Entertainment Group will join force to give us a new reality show on Philippine TV, “I DARE YOU,” which is set to change the views and lives of famous and ordinary Kapamilya starting Monday (July 11).
A jampacked Press conference was held today, July 7 in Quezon City and is cosidered one of the most interesting Press conference of ABSCBN since most of the questions are about life experiences, challenges and as they call it, “Hamon ng Buhay”
Hosted by Award winning actor Jericho Rosales, Versatile host-actress Iya Villania and comedy Princess Melai Cantiveros, “I DARE YOU” will test the resilience and determination of Celebrity Kapamilya challengers, who will carry-out a series of challenges in order to help win a reward for ordinary Filipinos worthy of the title, “Bida Kapamilya.”
The “Bidang Kapamilya” are everyday Pinoys who bravely face life’s challenges no matter how hard they get. They are the market vendors, the teachers in far-flung areas, the laborers, stuntmen, garbage and junk collectors, farmers, senior citizens, people with disability, among others.
This is the first time the public gets to see Gab and Alessandra without the make-up, without their assistants and performing without any “cuts” or “take-twos.” Viewers will also hear Jericho’s inspiring rags-to-riches story, as told and demonstrated by the actor himself.
Iya added that the celebrity Kapamilya challengers aren’t the only ones who will get inspiration from the real-life and unscripted drama featured in the show. She said viewers will also learn from the experiences of the “Bidang Kapamilya” and the celebrities.
Jericho clarified that though the celebrities will have to dress down and work, it is not the goal of the program to deglamorize them. He said the stars are actually given the opportunity to show who they really are behind the camera and away from the limelight.
Melai however is the sweetheart of this show. Jericho told the press. Melai credited Jericho for being so nice. “Hindi ko alam na sobrang bait kasama. Napakabait ni Jericho Rosales. Ovher!” Melai said.
In an interview with Push he explained, “Our program works both ways. The ordinary people get to see the real emotions of the artists, and the artists get to see how an ordinary person lives.”“I Dare You is here to inspire and challenge people to face their personal trials, just like what our Kapamilyas are doing no matter how difficult their lives are already,” she said.
Meanwhile, although “I Dare You” is filled with heart-tugging stories, viewers can also expect light and funny moments courtesy of Melai, who will join her close friends Jericho and Iya in guiding celebrity Kapamilya challengers.
“I am the wacky, naughty, and less serious host in the show,” said the former Pinoy Big Brother Big Winner. Like Jericho and Iya, Melai said she appreciates the depth of this project.
“Our hosting here is full of heart and purpose,” she said.
Catch “I Dare You,” from Monday to Friday beginning July 11, before “Mula sa Puso” on ABS-CBN.
Yes, you read it right, Facebook in partnership with SKYPE for another innovation in our Social networking experience! It has a new designs in chat plus group chat video calling powered by Skype.
There is also a new design that makes the chat look better on wide screens. Now there is a side panel showing you the people you chat with the most and whether they are online or not, which shows up on wider screens. It reminds me of the side rail in the RockMelt social browser, which Facebook has been working with closely.
Video calling is now possible in Facebook. Its browser-based inside Facebook, and is currently only one-to-one video calling. (Skype charges for group video chat). One nice feature is that you can leave your friends video voicemails if they don’t answer, so it is both live and asynchronous.
Immediately, people will be comparing Facebook video calling to Google+ Hangouts, which is a group video chat capability within Google’s new social product. The lack of group video chat in the Facebook product might be seen as a weakness, but most video chats tend to be one-to-one. And Facebook can always add group video chats later.
CEO Mark Zuckerberg calls the Skype app “the first example of a great social app.” He sees the next five years being about social apps built on top of the infrastructure Facebook has built. Communications products are inherently social, and chat is a good place to start.
1. CLICK THIS: https://www.facebook.com/videocalling
2. Then click Get Started.
3. Choose the person you want to video call.
4. A set up menu will pop up and you have to click Run.
Last Week I was invited to attend a launch of another partnership, (A TV Show to be exact) by Hello Media and Studio 23 but wasnt able to come due to prior commitment. Then I’ve learned that the project is all about romance on Philippine TV. The 1st “ORIGINAL PINOY” dating game show, “DREAM DATE” premieres July 15, 2011. The show will be hostd by Myx VJ, Bianca Roque and Magandang Umaga host, Andrei Felix.
“DREAMDATE” is the first ever tri-media, dating game-lifestyle show in the Philippines created by Filipinos! This is not a franchise from foreign shows…” says David Abrenilla, the executive producer and creator of the show. All Pinoy TV fanatics all over the world are invited to experience the dawning of this new era of dating entertainment.
This grand multi-media launch aims to ultimately connect all three main media outlets- online, mobile and television to meet the growing demands of today’s generation of digital consumers who are seeking entertainment, interaction and user generated content.
Providing the show with its unique match-making system is the nation’s very own and first on-line and mobile dating-lifestyle network, Chuzi. This matchmaker guarantees a selection process that is exciting yet safe, non-offensive and free from rejection. Chuzi makes the contestants dating experience a memorable one by linking them up to the one they’re attracted to and are attracted to them. The DREAMDATE show is actually an extension of Chuzi. Consumers shall use the internet or their mobile phone to enroll in the game, in hopes of finding their match. The consumers are analyzed based on their success with the game and will be invited to a casting call, to have a chance to be on DREAMDATE show.
In their search for the ultimate DREAMDATE, 6 contestants, 3 girls and 3 boys, will take on questionings and other challenges, in a progressive fashion, for their compatibility. At the end, the contestants will be given the chance to vote for their DREAMDATE based on their looks, personality and special talent.
Last sunday night, (Monday morning actually) another interaction between my friends in twitter occured and The Rod Magaru Show topic was really out of nowhere. I am practically bored and trying to get some sleep but my timeline was so fast that I cant help but keep reading and tweeting! The engagement was pretty interesting. And it seems like everyone is so n the mood to respond with their observation. The topic was, at first I thought was subjective but later on most of the responses are quite valid. Though I have some reservation on how to react because at the end of the day, its still a public opinion.
Here is the topic:
I Retweeted more than I think 20 to 40 tweets as the poll runs only for an hour.
Here are some of the responses:
From effort of fans to Stories on Primetime to Sunday Variety Show to Loveteams and Hosts of the showviz Oriented Talk Show:
Performances and Studio set:
From afternoon programs to (again) Loveteams to Talents:
From Projects of certain talents to Cable signals:
Politics, News content:
News content to mexicanovelas:
From Remakes, Replays and Favoritism:
And then I gave my own entry to make a fair engagement between them. So I answered, “that sometimes, There are news contents that are not news worthy.” I chose not to justify my response since my answer was practically self explanatory. However, some insights on some of the responses above.
1.) LOVETEAMS exist. And we may like it or not, Its the discretion of the Network based on research (Audience, ratings, Box office records, votes)
2.) Studio of Happy Yipee Yehey – I think I agree that it needs a major overhaul. period.
3.) Performances – Standards varies among the audience.
Most of the respondents are Kapamilya. And this concerns are I must admit, good feedback to the audience. All in all. We are talking of the most successful, largest broadcasting Network in the country. So there!
And anyone who wants to argue with that should justify its basis.
NEXT WEEKEND: WHAT ARE THE TV SHOWS FROM THE PAST DESERVES A COMEBACK and WHAT ARE THE PRESENT TV SHOWS THAT NEEDS TO BE AXED ASAP?
See you again nextweek, Monday 1am! Start thinking now!
Last weekend I was able to visit again the National Bookstore in Ayala Trinoma Mall. Its been awhile since I visited National Bookstore for some reasons that landscape and bookstore ambiance here in the Philippines has evolved tremendously in the last five years. during my college days, National Bookstore is one of my favorite hangout everytime we go to the malls. Fully booked and Powerbooks are not as big as now. So come my visit last saturday I am surprise that a lot has changed in the bookstore. What caught me more is the organized Graphic Novel/Comics section.
So I tried seeking for a book on Marvel to check and experience it myself how organized the section is. There’s one story made by Marvel that I want, A Civil War Guide which is a clash of superhero ideology. The United States government passes a bill called the Superhuman Registration Act. It legislates, categorizes and tracks heroes and their activities. Some heroes are optimistic about the idea, and others are less so. Some believe that heroes should be public figures and others want their lives kept private through masks and secret identities. Sides are chosen, and the results are catastrophic. Friends become enemies, families are torn apart, and villains thank the high heavens.
With the competition among bookstores on which gives the best costumer service, ambiance and organized sections of the book. I will still consider how a bookstore manages to relocate books per category. Because more or less we want to see it for ourselves and not rely on staff. So Im impressed.
